Colorado Bears Field Hockey Club

High School

Overview

The Denver Site has a number of programs for high schoolers looking to become the best field hockey players they can be. Our most competitive program is our Travel Team(s). The next Travel Team Tryout will take place in June 2025 for the 2025-2026 Travel Season that starts with the Shooting Star Thanksgiving Tournament each year. If you missed our Travel Team tryouts or simply want to improve your skills in the off season, you are welcome to join our High School Rising Stars Program (formerly High School Development Team).

Our Rising Stars Program consists of skills clinics in the Winter and Spring Seasons along with Playdays that are fun filled scrimmage days where players compete against internal and local competition in small sided games. Our Rising Stars Program is focused on building the fundamental skills required to play at the next level. Lastly, high school players may be invited to participate in one of our Adult Leagues. Adult Leagues are run in the Winter and Summer Seasons.

2024-2025 Rising Stars Winter Season

We are excited to kick off our Rising Stars Skills Sessions with our 2024-2025 Winter Season! This year's Rising Stars program is similar to last year's High School Development Team. The goal of the program is to give players lots of touches on the ball and focus on fundamental skill development (think passing, receiving, block tackles, double teams, flicks on cage, etc)... and small sided games. The great thing about Indoor Field Hockey is games are limited to 5v5 so players get tons of touches on the ball. The Winter Season will also consist of two playdays (the Holiday Jamboree and Polar Bear Playday) for a fun-filled day of tournament style games with prizes and podium finishes!

The Rising Stars Program is open to field players and goal keepers of all skill levels.

Once registration closes, players will be split up into ability groups. These groups are dynamic and are meant to ensure that players are appropriately challenged within our Rising Stars Program. Players will be split onto evenly matched teams for Playdays. Parents with questions can reach out to Assistant Director, Miki Best at miki@coloradobears.com.

Registration is capped so please register ASAP! We expect to sell out this year based on limited indoor court availability!
