1st Annual Colorado Indoor Cup in the Books!
1st Annual Colorado Indoor Cup in the Books!
On Saturday, April 15th, the Colorado Bears hosted their first annual Colorado Indoor Cup. The adult field hockey tournament, hosted at the Foothills Fieldhouse, Indoor Sport Court, has been two years in the making, as Colorado Bears founder, Emma Bozek dreamt up the idea of hosting a competitive indoor tournament in Denver, CO during Adult Winter League last year. The event finally came to fruition with 25 adult members forming four competitive teams to play 4x 24 minute games.
Colorado Cup kicked off at 9 AM MST and saw a ton of action in each game! The teams with the best records, Team 4 and Team 1 went on to play in the finals at 12 PM. Team 4 took home first place going undefeated in all four games throughout the tournament. The members of Team 4 included Marije Toth, Sasha Sibree, Kristin Steiner, Tori Witcher, Lexy Jamison and Goal Keeper Faith Wesdorp. Midfielder, Tori Witcher was voted MVP of the finals!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our adult tournament. Also, a special shout out to U14 Travel Team Goal Keeper Aberlee Steiner and Boulder Little Bears Maya Toth for helping out with the clock and scorekeeping today. We hope to see the event grow next year to have up to 80+ adults participating! See you then!
